Explosive Walker is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion from the Sword & Shield era. Released in Japan in 2020 with the set code S2a, the expansion combines Pokémon from the Galar region with familiar Pokémon from previous generations. The set features Pokémon V, Pokémon VMAX and Trainer cards, giving Explosive Walker a varied identity within the early Japanese Sword & Shield series.
The Explosive Walker card list features Pokémon such as Centiskorch V, Centiskorch VMAX, Gardevoir V, Gardevoir VMAX and Vikavolt V. These powerful cards are accompanied by regular Pokémon and Evolution lines from several generations. Centiskorch plays a particularly recognizable role within the expansion, with its enormous Gigantamax form represented through Centiskorch VMAX.
Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX are an important part of Explosive Walker and represent the main special Pokémon mechanics used during this period of the Sword & Shield era. Selected Pokémon appear in multiple versions throughout the set, ranging from their standard Pokémon V cards to larger VMAX forms and collectible Full Art versions with expanded illustrations.
Collectors can find several rarity levels throughout the Japanese Explosive Walker card list. Alongside regular Pokémon, Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, the expansion includes Super Rare, Hyper Rare and additional Secret Rare cards. Higher-rarity Pokémon and Trainer cards extend the collection beyond the regular numbered set and provide alternative designs for several of the expansion’s most recognizable cards.
