GX Ultra Shiny is a Japanese Pokémon TCG High Class Pack expansion from the Sun & Moon era. Released in Japan in 2018 with the set code SM8b, the expansion brings together many Pokémon and cards from earlier Sun & Moon releases while placing a major emphasis on Shiny Pokémon. Its extensive checklist, Pokémon-GX and large selection of Shiny cards give GX Ultra Shiny a distinctive identity within the Japanese Sun & Moon series.
The GX Ultra Shiny card list features Pokémon such as Charizard-GX, Rayquaza-GX, Mewtwo-GX, Espeon-GX, Umbreon-GX, Sylveon-GX and many other Pokémon from different generations. Regular Pokémon, Pokémon-GX and Trainer cards are combined within a particularly large collection, representing many different parts of the Sun & Moon era in a single Japanese High Class Pack set.
Shiny Pokémon are the defining characteristic of GX Ultra Shiny. Numerous Pokémon appear in their alternate Shiny colorations, ranging from regular Pokémon to powerful Shiny Pokémon-GX. Charizard-GX is among the most recognizable Shiny cards from the expansion, while Pokémon such as the Eeveelutions and several other popular species also appear with distinctive Shiny artwork.
Collectors can find a wide variety of card treatments throughout the Japanese GX Ultra Shiny card list. Alongside regular Pokémon and Pokémon-GX, the expansion contains Shiny Pokémon, Shiny Pokémon-GX, Full Art Trainers and additional higher-rarity cards. These special versions significantly extend the collection beyond the regular numbered cards and create a broad selection of different artwork styles.
