Shining Legends is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion from the Sun & Moon era. Released in Japan in 2017 with the set code SM3+, the Japanese expansion is known as Shining Legends and places a strong emphasis on Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. The set combines regular Pokémon, Pokémon-GX and special Shining Pokémon, giving it a distinctive identity within the early Japanese Sun & Moon series.
The Shining Legends card list features Pokémon such as Mewtwo-GX, Entei-GX, Raichu-GX and Zoroark-GX alongside a selection of regular Pokémon from different generations. Legendary and Mythical Pokémon play an especially important role throughout the expansion, creating a card list that contains many recognizable Pokémon within a relatively focused Japanese set.
Shining Pokémon are one of the defining characteristics of Shining Legends. Cards such as Shining Mew, Shining Rayquaza, Shining Jirachi, Shining Arceus, Shining Genesect and Shining Volcanion feature Shiny Pokémon with distinctive card treatments. These cards provide a different collecting style from the Pokémon-GX found throughout the expansion and form an important part of the complete Shining Legends checklist.
Collectors can find several rarity levels and card styles throughout the Japanese Shining Legends set. Alongside regular Pokémon, Pokémon-GX and Shining Pokémon, the expansion includes Super Rare, Hyper Rare and additional Secret Rare cards. Full Art Pokémon-GX and higher-rarity Trainer cards further expand the collection beyond the regular numbered cards.
All Shining Legends cards on this collection page belong to the original Japanese SM3+ expansion and feature Japanese-language card text. As a special expansion from the Sun & Moon era, Shining Legends stands out through its concentration of Legendary, Mythical and Shiny Pokémon rather than focusing primarily on a single region or conventional group of Evolution lines.
