Legendary Heartbeat is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion from the Sword & Shield era. Released in Japan in 2020 with the set code S3a, the expansion is a special Japanese set featuring a mixture of Legendary and Mythical Pokémon alongside Pokémon V, Pokémon VMAX and Trainer cards. Its colorful card selection and introduction of Amazing Rare cards give Legendary Heartbeat a distinctive identity within the early Sword & Shield series.
The Legendary Heartbeat card list features Pokémon such as Zarude V, Steelix V, Ampharos V and Alcremie VMAX alongside many regular Pokémon from different generations. Legendary and Mythical Pokémon also play an important role throughout the collection, with Pokémon such as Celebi, Jirachi, Rayquaza, Raikou, Zacian and Zamazenta appearing in special versions.
Amazing Rare cards are one of the defining characteristics of Legendary Heartbeat. These cards feature a distinctive multicolored design that extends beyond the normal illustration area and gives each Pokémon a highly recognizable appearance. Legendary Heartbeat was the first Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion to introduce this rarity, making the Amazing Rare selection an important part of the set’s identity.
Collectors can find several rarity levels throughout the Japanese Legendary Heartbeat card list. Alongside regular Pokémon, Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, the expansion includes Amazing Rare, Super Rare, Hyper Rare and additional Secret Rare cards. Full Art Pokémon and Trainer cards further expand the checklist beyond the regular numbered portion of the set.
