Moon Collection is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion from the Sun & Moon era. Released in Japan in 2016 with the set code SM1M, the expansion was one of the first sets of the Japanese Sun & Moon series. Lunala plays a central role within the collection, creating a direct connection with Pokémon Moon and the introduction of the Alola region to the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
The Moon Collection card list features Pokémon such as Lunala-GX, Umbreon-GX, Espeon-GX and Tauros-GX alongside regular Pokémon and Evolution lines from Alola and earlier generations. Newly introduced Pokémon appear together with established favorites, giving the set a mixture of seventh-generation species and Pokémon that had already appeared throughout earlier eras of the Pokémon TCG.
Pokémon-GX are one of the defining characteristics of Moon Collection. The expansion belongs to the first generation of Japanese sets to feature this card mechanic, with Pokémon-GX introducing powerful GX attacks that could normally be used only once during a game. Lunala-GX is particularly important to the identity of the set, while other Pokémon-GX provide additional types and gameplay characteristics throughout the collection.
Collectors can find several rarity levels throughout the Japanese Moon Collection card list. Alongside regular Pokémon and Pokémon-GX, the expansion includes Super Rare, Hyper Rare and additional Secret Rare cards. Full Art Pokémon-GX, Full Art Trainers and higher-rarity cards extend the collection beyond the regular numbered checklist and provide alternative versions of selected Pokémon and Trainers.
All Moon Collection cards on this collection page belong to the original Japanese SM1M expansion and feature Japanese-language card text. Moon Collection was released alongside Collection Sun, with the two expansions marking the beginning of the Sun & Moon era in the Japanese Pokémon TCG. Moon Collection places Lunala prominently within its card list, while Collection Sun is centered around Solgaleo.
