Remix Bout is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion from the Sun & Moon era. Released in Japan in 2019 with the set code SM11a, the expansion continues the TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX period with a mixture of familiar Pokémon from different generations. The set combines regular Pokémon, Pokémon-GX, TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX and Trainer cards, giving Remix Bout a distinctive place among the later Japanese Sun & Moon releases.
The Remix Bout card list features TAG TEAM combinations such as Charizard & Braixen-GX, Venusaur & Snivy-GX and Blastoise & Piplup-GX. These cards bring together fully evolved Kanto starter Pokémon with partners from later generations, creating three recognizable pairings within the expansion. Additional Pokémon-GX, regular Pokémon and Trainer cards provide further variety throughout the set.
TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX are one of the defining characteristics of Remix Bout. These cards place two Pokémon together on a single card and combine their characteristics through powerful attacks and GX attacks. The presence of Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise gives the expansion a particularly strong connection to the original Kanto starter Evolutions while still incorporating Pokémon introduced in later generations.
