Scarlet ex is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion that marked the beginning of the Scarlet & Violet era. Released in Japan in 2023 with the set code SV1S, the expansion introduced the new Pokémon ex mechanic to the Japanese Scarlet & Violet series and features a strong selection of Pokémon associated with the Paldea region. Its combination of new-generation Pokémon and returning favorites makes Scarlet ex an important early set from this era.
The Scarlet ex card list features Pokémon such as Koraidon ex, Gardevoir ex, Great Tusk ex, Magnezone ex and Banette ex. Koraidon is one of the defining Pokémon of the expansion and provides a clear connection with Pokémon Scarlet. These Pokémon ex appear alongside regular Pokémon, Evolution lines and Trainer cards, creating a varied collection that combines newly introduced Paldean Pokémon with species from earlier generations.
Art Rare cards are an important part of Scarlet ex and introduce illustration-focused versions of several Pokémon from the set. These cards show Pokémon within larger environments and detailed scenes, providing a different visual approach from their standard versions. Selected Pokémon ex and Trainers also appear with more elaborate artwork at higher rarity levels, expanding the collection beyond the regular numbered cards.
Collectors can find multiple rarity levels throughout the Japanese Scarlet ex card list. Alongside regular cards and Pokémon ex, the expansion includes Art Rare, Super Rare, Special Art Rare and additional higher-rarity cards. This variety provides different ways to collect Scarlet ex, whether focusing on individual Pokémon, specific artwork styles, Trainer cards or completing the broader Japanese set.

Scarlet ex was released alongside Violet ex, with the two sets introducing the Scarlet & Violet generation to the Japanese Pokémon TCG.
