Shield is a Japanese Pokémon TCG expansion that helped launch the Sword & Shield era. Released in Japan in 2019 with the set code S1H, the expansion introduced Pokémon from the Galar region alongside the new Pokémon V mechanic. Zamazenta plays a central role within the set, connecting the expansion directly with Pokémon Shield and the beginning of a new generation of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
The Shield card list features Pokémon such as Zamazenta V, Stonjourner V, Stonjourner VMAX, Indeedee V, Wobbuffet V and other Pokémon from Galar and previous regions. Regular Pokémon, Evolution lines and Trainer cards complete the main collection, providing a varied selection of cards from the earliest period of the Japanese Sword & Shield series.
Pokémon V are one of the defining characteristics of Shield and introduced a new generation of powerful Pokémon cards. The expansion also contains Pokémon VMAX, representing the enormous Dynamax and Gigantamax forms introduced with the Sword & Shield generation. These mechanics established the foundation for many of the Japanese Pokémon sets that would follow throughout the era.
Collectors can find several rarity levels throughout the Japanese Shield card list. Alongside regular Pokémon, Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, the expansion contains Super Rare, Hyper Rare and additional Secret Rare cards. Full Art Pokémon, Trainer cards and other higher-rarity versions extend the collection beyond the standard numbered checklist and provide additional artwork to collect.
All Shield cards on this collection page belong to the original Japanese S1H expansion and feature Japanese-language card text. Shield was released alongside Sword, with the two sets jointly introducing the Sword & Shield generation to the Japanese Pokémon TCG. Shield places Zamazenta prominently within its collection, while Sword focuses on its Legendary counterpart, Zacian.
