Shiny Star V is a Japanese Pokémon TCG High Class Pack expansion from the Sword & Shield era. Released in Japan in 2020 with the set code S4a, the expansion brings together Pokémon from several earlier Sword & Shield releases while placing a major emphasis on Shiny Pokémon. Its extensive checklist, Pokémon V, Pokémon VMAX and large selection of Shiny cards give Shiny Star V a distinctive identity within the Japanese Sword & Shield series.
The Shiny Star V card list features Pokémon such as Charizard V, Charizard VMAX, Eternatus V, Eternatus VMAX, Ditto V and Ditto VMAX alongside many other Pokémon from the Galar region and previous generations. Regular Pokémon, Evolution lines and Trainer cards are combined with numerous special versions, creating a considerably broader collection than a typical Japanese main expansion.
Shiny Pokémon are the defining characteristic of Shiny Star V. A large part of the collection consists of Pokémon presented in their alternate Shiny colorations, ranging from regular Shiny Pokémon to Shiny versions of Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX. Charizard VMAX is among the most recognizable Shiny cards associated with the expansion, while many smaller Pokémon and complete Evolution lines also receive Shiny versions.
Collectors can find several different rarity and artwork styles throughout the Japanese Shiny Star V card list. Alongside regular cards, Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, the expansion contains Shiny cards, Full Art Trainers and additional higher-rarity cards. These different treatments significantly expand the collection beyond the main numbered portion and provide a wide variety of artwork and Pokémon to collect.
All Shiny Star V cards on this collection page belong to the original Japanese S4a expansion and feature Japanese-language card text. As a High Class Pack set, Shiny Star V differs from a standard Japanese expansion through its larger card selection and strong focus on special card treatments. The set represents an important part of the early Sword & Shield era and later provided much of the foundation for the English Shining Fates expansion.
